-Inspect and clean areas to be covered/installed
-Inspect and repair concrete subfloor or particle bord/plywood subfloors, by using leveling compound or sanding
-Install the right underly for each type of flooring
-Measure, cut and install baseboards/shoe base and apply caulking
-Measure, cut and install resilient floors using adhesive, utility knives, rollers and other hand tools
-Use power tools such as miter saw, table saw, jug saw, skill saw to install hardwood and engineering floors by nail/staple down, nail glue assist, glue down and t&g floating
-Use the laminate cutter to install laminate and click luxury vinyl plank
-Carry the flooring material and the necessary tools to be used
-Measure, cut and install stair tread, riser and nosing
-Remove, load and dispose old flooring such as, solid nail down, floating laminate or engineering, glue down or tile.
Work Location: Varies throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia
Skill Requirement:
Education - Minimum High School (no Trade Certification required)
Work Experience - 3 to 4 years in flooring installation, baseboard installation, leveling or floor preparation.
