Truck Driver

 

 

Job Duties

• Conducting safety checks and minor maintenance on trucks
• Driving cargo to its destination, monitoring traffic and road conditions
• Obeying road safety and transportation laws
• Run ratchet straps and chains and binders to secure load to trailer.
• Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
• Maintaining logbooks and delivery paperwork
• Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals and brakes
• Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods
• Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers
• Direct customer queries to management
• Check vehicles and troubleshoot and maintain vehicles.
• Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo

Requirements

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required
  No experience is required, will train
• Dependable, hardworking, punctual, and reliable
• AZ license is preferred
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English is essential.

Salary $24.50 hourly for 30 hours per week.
