Specific Skills:

 

ü  Strong ability to plan, organize, control, and evaluate MLG’s Enterprises Limited’s operations in a fast-paced environment.

ü  Capable of planning and managing capital expenditure projects related to machinery and equipment replacement and new production systems design.

ü  Deep understanding of the food supply chain to optimize production schedules and raw materials and finished products inventory levels.

ü  Strong background on statistical quality control methodologies like Six Sigma and capable to design and implement inspection’s system and production reporting procedures.

Personal Suitability

 

ü  A Chemical Engineering or Food Engineering degreed preferred.

ü  Strong understanding of business management and operations management, postgraduate in Business Administration or MBA are preferred.

ü  10+ years in large size manufacturing business in a leading role.

ü  At least 2 years of experience in food business processing plants.

ü  Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts. 2 – 3 years’ experience applying these concepts as Supply Chain Leader.

ü  2 – 3 years’ experience as Supply Chain Leader in large size manufacturing business.

ü  Deep understanding of project management methodologies, strong experience on capital projects design, execution, and commissioning. 5+ years as Project Manager Professional certified preferred.

ü  Experience on teaching and coaching others.

ü  Strong leadership traits, with demonstrated success. 5+ years in a leadership role within a manufacturing facility preferred.

ü  Proven capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks. 3 – 4 years of experience as Six Sigma Black Belt in a manufacturing environment, Six Sigma Black Belt credentials are preferred.

ü  Knowledge of BRC standard, HACCP and ISO are an asset. At least 2 years’ experience as BRC team leader.

ü  Assertive, creative, energetic, and positive thinker.

ü  PC literate. Working knowledge of Office 365 as well as SAP an asset.

DUTIES:

  • Manage overall operation of the plant to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures included in the operating plan are met, including production scheduling, standard costs, cost reductions, productivity, continuous improvement, sanitation, consumer satisfaction, and capital/technology improvements.
  • Provide leadership to plant management staff by hiring, reviewing performance, and providing feedback, determining training and development needs, and providing coaching and work direction.
  • Support managers and teams in attainment of objectives contained in the operating plan.
  • Promote and enhance a positive team environment, including efforts to establish and maintain high levels of employee involvement and communication.
  • Plan and implement a safe work environment by applying corporate health & safety programs focused on prevention, ensuring health and safety is a top priority, and meeting incident targets.
  • Promote a focus on excellence in all manufacturing practices, including those required to support optimal quality, yield and cost containment, and minimal rework or downgrades. Monitor and communicate performance on an on-going basis to ensure production is focused on targets.
  • Develop, implement, and continuity of all quality assurance programs, including Six Sigma methodology, PQMS, BRC, and associated GMPs. Participate in record and on-site verification, as well as annual review of all programs.
  • Coordinate with other functions (e.g. Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, Finance) to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Plan regular financial and productivity reviews as required with corporate, local finance, management team and plant employees.
  • Direct the production team for compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards to meet the production plan safely and reliably.
  • Ensure all BRC and food safety requirements are met by department.
  • Ensure all necessary compliance training requirements are met for production personnel.
  • Develop, set, track, and report out KPI’s to meet production plan requirements.
  • Manage department to eliminate all non-compliances with food safety procedures and adherence to plant GMP policies.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to streamline operations to increase output, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Lead corrective action teams for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate the daily functions of the warehouse to ensure proper workflow for incoming and outgoing products and that adequate staffing is available.
  • Monitor minimum inventories to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in full as per service agreements
  • Develop budget and manage spend for production area to meet targets.
  • Evaluate departmental operating procedures are kept current in accordance with plant requirements.
  • Represent MLG to 3rd party agencies and customer auditors.
  • Use Project Management Institute standards to lead expansion’s capital projects.
  • Liaise with Process Technology to coordinate product scale ups and technology transfer.
  • Support and set strategy, KPIs, and deliverables for continuous improvement applying Six Sigma methodology and Lean Manufacturing principles.
