GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Operator uses food manufacturing and packaging equipment in a safe and efficient way to produce a variety of our egg products, such as: hard boiled, omelets, and Egg Bakes. By adhering to the plant GMP’s and HACCP guidelines, the Production Operator will produce a quality product, and ensure scheduled production quantities, timelines, and food safety standards are met.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Machine operation, troubleshooting and efficient mechanical fixes while following proper techniques and procedures
  • Completion of documentation according to standards, including the CFIA and BRC
  • Mentoring and leading a team of production team members (1-20 team members) to cover break rotation, provide feedback and other duties as assigned, to meet production quantities and timelines 
  • Ensure entire line meets PPE requirements, all safety standards and follows workplace safety procedures
  • Follow SOP’s to ensure smooth equipment start-up, operation during shift, changeover, and shut down

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Computer literacy including Word, Excel, SAP, and other programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Able to provide effective and respectful on the spot feedback to production workers on their line
  • Enjoys troubleshooting and a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Additional safety training (e.g., First Aid, JHSC certification, etc.) is an asset

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS                                                                                      

  • High school diploma necessary, and college diploma is a related field is preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Production Operator (or similar) role in a manufacturing facility
  • Proven ability to motivate a team and generate results
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Production Operator role takes place in our Brockville food manufacturing facility. As such work will be performed in hot, and humid environments around our cooking processes, and cool, moist environments around our refrigeration and freezing processes. Food safety is vital to our mission, and so compliance with our safety, cleaning and PPE procedures.

Move through the wage range at 500, 1000 and 1500 hours.

LOCATION OF WORK

This position is based in Brockville, ON (260 Central Avenue, Brockville, ON, K6V 4N8) and occasionally in Lyn, ON (3356 County Rd. #27, Lyn, ON, K0E 1M0).
