Position:

We are a growing bakery, stablished in 2010, focused on creating modern and traditional pastries and cakes. Vanilla Ën Glaze has supplied many VIPs for their culinary needs, including artistic, sports stars and Members of Parliament. We also supply to major hotels from Ottawa to Niagara. All of our customers have been more than pleased with the quality and caliber of our work and continue to return for new orders. We are looking for a chef with experience in pastry and chocolate techniques to join our team on a full-time shift.

 

Duties:

· Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff

· Supervise activities of chefs, bakers and other kitchen workers

· Create new recipes

· Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food

· Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets

· Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff

· Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions

· Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods

· Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions

· Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards

· Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances

· Train staff in preparation, baking, cooking and handling of food

 

Qualifications:

· Some culinary education required

· Experience specifically with South Indian, Sri Lankan/Tamil

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in pastry kitchen and chocolate techniques
