Position: Chef

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time

Position Number: 1

 

Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Salary: $22.00 ~ $24.00 per hour

Working Hours: 30~40 hours per week

Benefits: 10 days of paid vacation per year or 4 % of remuneration

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct, prepare or supervise cooking and other food preparation activities on daily basis
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
• Monitor and oversee sanitation practices to ensure that regulations and standards of cleanliness are always being strictly adhered to by kitchen staff
• Coordinate all food purchasing, budgeting and planning operations with other staff members
• Analyze recipes and make menu changes when necessary to keep customers happy and to minimize overhead costs when possible
• Plan and develop new recipes and menus
• Inspect cooking equipment, supplies, work areas and ingredients to ensure constant conformance to regulatory standards
• Establish kitchen staff schedules
• Trains and hires cooks and kitchen staff

 

Qualification:

• Language: English
• Completion of secondary school
• Several years of experience as a chef or at least 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation
