Key Job duties
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individuals dishes based on ethnic or standardized recipes.
- Plan menus and ensure quality of food and determine size of food portions.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- Oversee kitchen operations and staff by scheduling and supervising kitchen helpers.
- Work with restaurant equipment including grill, fryer, freezer, and other related cooking equipment while following all health and safety standards.
- Maintain kitchen inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Work as a “team” member to assure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness, and value added to each customer.
Qualifications
- Completion of Secondary School
- An education in cooking or culinary arts or 2-3 years of experience cooking in a commercial setting
- Language: English
- Skills: Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, Attention to detail and organizational skills, strong communication skills
