Regal Grooming Lounge is a professional grooming business located in downtown Vancouver. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Barbering Vocational Trainer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching, highly organized, and skilled in delivering hands-on training in a shop-based environment.

Work Setting: On-site (no remote work option)
Salary: $40.00–$45.00 per hour (to be negotiated)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend
Start Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities
- Create clear and easy-to-follow training manuals, service guidelines, and quality standards so every shop in the franchise delivers the same great customer experience.
- Train new barbers during onboarding and walk them through all service steps, shop procedures, and customer-care expectations.
- Work directly with barbers and students on the shop floor, guiding them through real hands-on practice, demonstrations, and live workshops.
- Show trainees how to perform cuts, fades, shaves, grooming services, sanitation routines, and proper tool handling.
- Prepare training materials, lesson plans, and visual resources that support both technical skills and professional development.
- Keep an eye on each student’s progress, give regular feedback, and help them map out possible career paths in the barbering industry.
- Visit franchise locations from time to time to check service quality, help staff improve their skills, and offer coaching when needed.
- Update training programs as trends change, ensuring techniques and service standards stay modern and competitive.
- Use shop tools and audio-visual equipment to support hands-on learning and demonstrations.
- Maintain training records, progress reports, and documentation in an organized and accurate way.
Job requirements:

Completion of a college diploma or equivalent industry training or experience.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on barbering experience, including advanced cutting, fading, shaving, and grooming techniques.

Previous experience training, mentoring, or supervising barbers, apprentices, or students in a shop-based environment.

Ability to develop or follow structured training materials, lesson plans, and instructional resources.

Solid understanding of sanitation standards, hygiene practices, and health & safety requirements in a grooming setting.

Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable guiding multiple trainees with different learning styles.
