Receiver– NOC 14400
Job Summary
Receiver – Is responsible for the efficient receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials, parts, and equipment essential for window and door production. This role ensures that all materials meet quality standards, are stored appropriately, and are promptly communicated to relevant departments. The Receiver helps maintain the supply chain flow and supports the production team's efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Inspection
- Unload deliveries of raw materials, glass, frames, hardware, and other window components.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect materials for defects, damages, or discrepancies, and report issues promptly.
Inventory Management
- Label and organize incoming items in designated storage areas to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Record received items in the inventory management system.
- Conduct routine inventory counts to reconcile stock levels.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of received goods, discrepancies, and returns.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for damaged or missing items.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team regarding order issues or backorders.
Coordination with Production
- Ensure materials are delivered to appropriate departments as required for production schedules.
- Communicate shortages or delays to supervisors to minimize production disruptions.
Safety and Compliance
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment safely to move heavy or bulky items.
- Follow safety protocols when handling glass, sharp objects, and heavy materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area in compliance with workplace standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and software.
- Basic knowledge of window manufacturing materials (glass, frames, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 100 lbs ).
- Comfort working in a factory/warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment
- Primarily in a factory warehouse setting, involving frequent standing, bending, and lifting.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and large equipment in the work area.
