Job Duties:
- Prepare ingredients (clean, cut, trim various vegetables, meat and poultry) and cook a variety of sauces, processed foods, Asian soup broths, specialized Asian cuisine, etc.; according to food menu items for packaging for retail and wholesale distribution to retail groceries stores and other Little Saigon locations.
- Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers to ensure efficient food production.
- Manage and oversee kitchen activities to ensure smooth food production.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure the food quality is outstanding every time, meeting standardized guidelines.
- Ensure work areas, utensils, and production equipment are in a clean and sanitized state.
- Ensure that food procedures are followed, safe handling of kitchen products and equipment is maintained, and health and safety policies are adhered to.
- May assist in hiring and training kitchen staff.
- Specialize in preparing and cooking Asian cuisine in bulk quantities for packaging for retail and wholesale distribution.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Education: No formal education required
Experience: 2+ years of commercial cooking experience required
****Please Note: Applicants with culinary certificate or cooking diploma will be considered with 1 year or less experience
Language: English
