Job Description:
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and loaders to move, load, unload, and stack lumber, logs, and wood products.
- Transport raw logs, processed lumber, and finished wood products between cutting, processing, storage, and shipping areas.
- Sort, stack, and organize lumber based on size, grade, and production requirements to support efficient operations.
- Load and unload incoming shipments with lumber and wood products, by operating heavy equipment
- Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment to ensure safe working condition and report defects or malfunctions promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Monitor equipment operation during use and communicate any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Follow workplace safety procedures, including safe handling of heavy loads.
- Maintain basic records of equipment usage, inspections, and completed work as required.
- Work with team members and supervisors to keep operations running smoothly and meet daily targets.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of Secondary school is required.
• Post-secondary education and/or experience in the similar field is required.
