This is an on-site role, so there is no option to work remotely. You'll be working at heights, in confined spaces and in dusty conditions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to understand what each job needs
- Laying out work to building code using measuring tools
- Estimating labour and material costs
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and putting up walls and roof systems
- Building and setting concrete forms and moulds, filling them with concrete, and running vibrating tables to settle it
- Operating concrete mixing equipment and concrete finishing
