Financial analyst

Responsibilities 

In this position, you will perform the following duties:

• Evaluate financial risks, prepare financial forecasts and scenario analyses, and provide reports and recommendations to support management’s financial and operational decisions.
• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets and long-term financial plans for facility management operations, service contracts and lifecycle maintenance programs.
• Plan and analyze short- and long-term cash flows to assess funding requirements for operating expenditures, capital projects and contractual commitments.
• Develop and maintain financial models covering revenues, operating expenses, capital expenditures and lifecycle funding to support budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation.
• Assess financial performance against budgets, forecasts, prior-year results and contractual targets; investigate significant variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze proposed capital investments and lifecycle maintenance projects through financial modelling, scenario analysis and cost-benefit evaluations.
• Advise on and support the financial aspects of service contracts, including Public-Private Partnership agreements, negotiations, amendments, renewals and change orders.
• Monitor contractual payment arrangements, performance deductions, financial commitments and reporting obligations, and assess their impact on revenue, costs and profitability.
• Analyze lifecycle expenditures and available funding against asset maintenance plans and contractual requirements, identifying potential funding gaps and financial risks.
• Develop and use financial analysis tools, forecasting models and performance dashboards to monitor contract portfolios and improve the accuracy and efficiency of management reporting.
• Prepare financial reports, presentations and recommendations for management, and collaborate with operational teams to improve cost control, contract performance and resource utilization.
• Support month-end and year-end financial reporting and provide financial analyses and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
