Vocational institute teacher

 

 

Location: Mississauga, ON L5S 1V6

Salary: $42.25 per hour for 35 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 2

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment 

Job Responsibilities:

• Facilitate lectures, demonstrations, panel discussions, and laboratory work.
• Prepare curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
• Develop, deliver, and mark exams and assignments.
• Inform students about study programs and careers in their field of specialization.
• Provide individualized instruction to students who need it.
• Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Demonstrate competencies including content knowledge, practical skills, communication skills, presentation skills, numeracy skills, social skills, pedagogy skills, evaluation skills etc.
• Use a variety of teaching and training aids including multimedia
• Demonstrate values, work ethics and empathy towards students.
• Contribute to the placement of vocational students for on the job training, and apprenticeship training.
• Conduct action research.
• Participate in training programs, seminars, conferences 

Eligibility Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Blackboard Learn
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Organizational skills and time management skills necessary
• Minimum experience of 2 years to less than 3 years.
