Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Plan, organize and supervise all aspects of inventory control, including receiving, storing, counting, and issuing inventory items.
  • Co-ordinate, assign and review work of team members to ensure they understand their responsibilities and perform their duties effectively.
  • Establish work schedules and procedures of delivery drivers.
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments.
  • Prepare and submit reports, investigating discrepancies and implement corrective actions to address any issues.
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Implement and monitor stock rotation policies, such as First In, First Out (FIFO), to minimize waste and ensure older inventory items are used before newer ones.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the handling and storage of inventory items.
  • Train workers in duties and policies and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Arrange training for staff to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies to ensure smooth functioning of the supply chain and the overall success of the organization.
