Nature of position:     Permanent, full-time (32 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $34.75 per hour

 

Vacation:                     4% in lieu of paid vacation

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

• Supervise and care for infants and children in the employer’s residence.
• Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children.
• Prepare formulas and change diapers for infants.
• Plan, prepare, and serve meals for children.
• Perform other housekeeping duties related to children.
• Oversee children’s activities, such as meals and rest periods.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
• Instruct children in personal hygiene.
• Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development.
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents.
• Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading, and outings.
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding each child.

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

• Completion of secondary school.
• Completion of a training program in childcare or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience (full-time or equivalent) as a caregiver in a private household.
• Experience working as a caregiver in a household with at least one child under five years old.
• Non-caregiving experience with children in an educational and/or clinic environment is preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Food safety certification is preferred.
• Flexibility and willingness to work longer hours at the discretion of the employer.
