As one of the best-known premier Badminton Training Center in Western Ontario, Lions Badminton Training Center is going through an exciting growth period and seeking for an Assistant Head Badminton Coach at our vibrant facility. Position Summary
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate training programs for beginner to intermediate badminton athletes, with a strong focus on youth;
- Plan and deliver the weekly training and competition programs, including individual and group lessons;
- Support the technical and mental development of young players by fostering discipline, confidence, and a champion’s mindset through positive reinforcement and structured routines.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to design seasonal plans that prepare athletes for club-level, school, or local competitions, and help identify athletes ready for advanced training.
- Coach players during tournaments at provincial, and national level;
- Motivate and mentor athletes to set personal goals, embrace challenges, and develop a strong work ethic, both on and off the court.
- Track athlete progress through observation, informal evaluations, and parent communication, and provide timely feedback to improve performance and attitude.
- Help organize and lead youth training camps, tryouts, and development events designed to foster growth and promote club participation.
- Assist with the onboarding and training of junior coaches and volunteers to ensure consistent delivery of the club’s values and coaching standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year of coaching experience for badminton athletes at competitive levels both in private and group settings.
- Minimum 2 years of competitive athlete experience at national and/or international level;
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in kinesiology, physical education, or child development is an asset.
- Experience mentoring junior coaches or assisting in program planning is an asset
- Highly driven and determined with a proven track record of delivering badminton players to a competitive level;
- Passion for working with children and teens, with demonstrated ability to motivate and engage youth in sports training?
- Outstanding leadership skills with prioritization and strategy to produce results, especially during tournaments;
- Ability to create a fun, respectful, and structured learning environment that promotes personal growth and teamwork.
- Demonstrated skills to communicate, analyze, organize and evaluate in an effective and efficient manner;
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and attend local tournaments or events as required.
- Excellent ability to communicate in English;
